Our Mission

The Student Pink Zone Organization is a student-led effort to support breast cancer research, detection, and prevention through the Pink Zone at Penn State.

What We Do

In 2010, the Student Pink Zone Organization was founded to bring Penn State students together in the fight against breast cancer. Alongside the Pennsylvania Pink Zone, the Student Pink Zone participates in a yearlong fundraising effort culminating in February with a Lady Lions basketball game to honor breast cancer survivors. The Student Pink Zone donates to 6 breast cancer institutes in central Pennsylvania for the education, treatment, and research of this disease:

  • Mount Nittany Medical Center

  • Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute

  • Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC)

  • The Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund

  • J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital

  • Lewistown Hospital

Last year, the Student Pink Zone donated $12,000 to these groups to aid in the care and recovery of men and women battling breast cancer. Since its founding, the Student Pink Zone has donated a total of over $132,000. We hope to continue to support this worthy cause by giving hope to patients and survivors that there will one day be a cure.
